Hi again NWC2015 Fans!
Well there may be just 15 sleeps to go until the Netball World Cup SYDNEY 2015 officially kicks-off, but the NWC2015 Trophy Tour team and I are still out on the road, trying to meet as many netball fans as possible before the tournament commences on Friday 7 August!
Last week we visited with St George District Netball Association for Tuesday night netball training. Although all the teams were training hard for their semi-final matches that week, it was great to have so many people come over and say hi, and have their photo taken with myself and the Trophy!
The following day we ventured up the highway to attend the Netball NSW Schools’ Cup Local Day in Newcastle! After a busy day saying hi to all the teams, we headed out to training at the Newcastle Netball Association, to watch teams, young and old, show us what they’ve got out on the netty court!
There was another round of Netball NSW Schools’ Cup matches at Singleton, where I had a great time as many of the teams let me join in their warm-up drills and team huddles – got to stay on my toes for all the FanFEST activities coming up soon to test me! Then that evening it was out to training at the Maitland Netball Association, where some local media were so excited by our visit that even they came down to say hi!
On the weekend it was back to some metro Sydney netball, and we kicked off the weekend with a visit with Manly Warringah Netball Association. We backed it up on Sunday with a drive up the mountains to Lapstone, where the Blue Mountains Netball Association held a fantastic netty Carnival! Thanks to everyone who braved the cold Sydney morning and came out to snap a selfie and say hi!
Plus, this week there has been more Netball NSW Schools’ Cup action, with the Trophy Tour team having the opportunity to catch up with teams competing in Sydney Regional Finals at one of the NWC2015 venues, Netball Central.
Have you caught up with me whilst I have been on the Trophy Tour trail over the past couple of weeks? If you have - please make sure to tag us in your photos on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, or alternatively you can share them with us by emailing them to email@example.com.
Look out for us over the weekend, as we celebrate National Netball Day on Saturday 25 July!
Until next time,
