Hi again NWC2015 Fans!
What a week it has been! I’m just back from spending an extended weekend down in Melbourne with a whole heap of my netty friends!
Last Wednesday we jumped in the Trophy Tour car, headed straight down the Hume Highway to Melbourne. First stop was to check out the action at the Victorian Netball League (VNL) played at the State Netball and Hockey Centre.
Thursday, I was up bright and early to attend the City of Melbourne netball clinic in Docklands thanks to the Melbourne Vixens and Netball Victoria’s invitation. It was great to meet Vixens’ defender Chloe Watson, and meet so many future stars of our game – there were even a few of them who said they’d see me again in Sydney because they will be coming up to the tournament to watch some of the games!
On Friday, I paid a visit to the All Stars team from St Mary’s Primary School. Despite only having played together for one season, last year they took out the Prahran Netball Association’s 11 and Under title. It was great to see their enthusiasm and passion for the game. Oh and they just loved my name…Nettie!
Sunday we headed to Hisense Arena to see the 2014 ANZ Championship Grand Final re-match between the Vixens and the Queensland Firebirds. It was great to catch up with my mate Foxy (the Vixens mascot) and enjoy photos with all the fans as they headed into the game. Afterwards I was invited back to meet some of the Vixens’ players and members at their post-match function and give them an opportunity chance to see the NWC Trophy up close and personal!
What a week – I’m tired just thinking about it!
Make sure you check out our Facebook page to see if your photo with me is there! Or if it’s not, you can tag us into your images on Twitter or Instagram.
This weekend we’re going to be back in Sydney at a few of the many netball events happening throughout New South Wales…grassroots events, carnival and championships … and I can’t wait to meet you there!
Until next time,
